Water Fitness To Go Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why should I work out in the water?
Water exercise improves your cardiorespiratory system and strength while protecting your joints by being low-impact.
Who should do water fitness?
People of all ages and fitness conditions can participate in and benefit from water exercise. Whether you are a highly trained athlete or a couch potato you can work at a level that will challenge you and improve your fitness. I teach all ages from teens, even tweens to 80+ years old.
Why do I want an MP3 player with Water Fitness routines?
If you have ever taken a Water Fitness class (which I highly recommend), then you know that when you travel it is very frustrating to miss your workouts. Or if you can't make it to class at the scheduled time but could make it to the pool later, you know how hard it is to remember the commands that you've done in class and how it is more difficult to work out by yourself. Now you can take me, your personal water fitness trainer into the water to keep you motivated and to give you a great workout.
Is Water Fitness safe to do during pregnancy?
Water Fitness is an excellent workout while you are pregnant. (I know I have four kids and the first two were twins.) In the water your whole body is supported so as your shape and center of gravity changes, you maintain your balance safely. Always check with your health care provider to ensure safety for your particular pregnancy.
Is Water Fitness good for people who have had knee/hip replacements?
Again, the benefit of a low impact workout is great for those who have had or are preparing to receive a knee/hip replacement. Through the years, I have worked with many individuals who have made exceptional progress during their recovery and have given the credit to their water fitness workouts. I have also worked with people who were preparing for surgery and wanted to strengthen their muscles to shorten recovery time. The resistance of the water gives a harder workout than air while the massaging benefits of the water flow reduce soreness.
